Baptism - Going public with your faith
We’re so excited you’re interested in baptism!
On May 26, we’ll be having a baptism service for any Vertical Students who are interested in baptism.
Before we baptize you, we want to make sure we’re on the same page when it comes to a couple of key concepts. We’ve designed this process to get you & your family up-to-speed.
1) If you haven’t already, tell a parent or guardian that you want to be baptized!
This process is designed to be completed alongside your parent or a mentor. So make sure that they are completing this step with you!
2) Watch the video below
This video covers two key terms we want to make sure you understand: SALVATION and BAPTISM. We’ve found this video to be helpful in explaining those two terms. Once you watch the video, let us know you watched it by completing the form below.
3) Let us know you watched it!
After you watch the above video with a parent or guardian, complete the form below and we’ll send you the baptism application!
What is Baptism?
Baptism is a public declaration that you are a Christ-follower. We believe that baptism is an outward display of the inward work of God in the life of a follower of Jesus. It is symbolic of salvation, not an act of salvation itself. Since it is a symbol, we believe that only students professing a personal faith in Jesus Christ should be baptized.
Who is allowed to baptize me?
Anyone who has placed their faith in Christ and then been baptized by immersion can baptize you. This could be someone like... your small group leader, your parent or your friend from Vertical Students! We want you to pick someone who has influenced your walk with Christ in a big way.
Does Baptism "save me"?
Baptism doesn't save you, but it is an obedient step that Christians take to demonstrate their commitment to following and obeying Jesus. We'd love to see every student in Vertical Students become a Christ-follower and get baptized.
