Parent Update Recap
In Case You Missed It… (Or just need a reminder of what we covered!)
Last Sunday, we had a Parent Update Meeting to 1) Celebrate what God did in 2018 and 2) to look forward to what’s ahead in 2019. Here’s some of the things we celebrated:
Our average attendance through the Fall semester was right around 20 students, up from the 8-9 students we had over the summer
Students are starting to form a true group dynamic and take next steps in their faith related to Bible reading, prayer, and wanting to please God with their lives and relationships — it’s super humbling and super cool to see students respond to God’s Word!
We had a TON of FUN! We had two “party night” events in the Fall (Flannel Night & the Christmas Party) and we’ll have more in 2019!
Here are some things coming up in 2019 we want you to know about:
WINTERFEST promises to be an amazing way to start off the year! With a spiritual emphasis weekend like WINTERFEST, we truly believe we can start off the year with a trajectory that will impact everything we do in 2019. We’re bringing in a guest speaker, putting together a band, and planning activities that small groups can do together to create lasting memories and bonds!
The DEADLINE to register is coming up on January 18
We don’t want finances to be the reason your student can’t come — if that’s the case, let us know and we’ll work with you!
We’re praying for 30 students to attend — would you pray with us and invite others to come?
Our SUMMER RETREAT this year will be at Crossroads Summer Camp in Anderson, SC from July 15-19
The DEADLINE to register is coming up on February 15 — which is super early! Your student will need to contribute $25 and a letter of intent stating why they want to come! That’s it — the camp will hold their spot!
The total cost listed on the website is $309/student, but we are working to get that price lowered for families who already give here at Vertical!
Keep an eye out for more info on this in the coming weeks
We’ll be hosting our first ever STUDENT BAPTISM SERVICE on May 26
We’re encourage all students who have placed their faith in Jesus to take this step of obedience
We’ll put them through a process to make sure they 1) understand the meaning of salvation & baptism, and 2) can articulate their testimony to share with others
This is a HUGE step for many students, so we’re excited to celebrate with them as they publicly identify with Christ through baptism
More info on each of these events will be coming soon, but we just wanted them to be on your radar.
